Leanne Coddington, CEO, Tourism and Events Queensland

Welcome to the Sunshine Coast to celebrate the 10th anniversary of NetFest – an event which brings thousands of netballers to Queensland to enjoy our beautiful state.

In this most challenging year, it is especially pleasing to be able to welcome so many visitors to the region, where event organisers have worked hard to ensure a COVID Safe environment for competitors, their families and spectators.

Queensland has become the home of netball this year and has hosted NetFest, the country’s biggest netball festival, for the past ten years since inception.

As well as fast-paced and healthy competition on the courts, there is a wide range of events and fun off the court, including the All-Stars match, family fun day and opportunity to mix and celebrate with professional athletes.

Tourism and Events Queensland is proud to support this event which is a feature on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar, showcasing the best events in the best destinations.

Very best of luck to all competitors, and I hope you also find time during your visit to explore the Sunshine Coast and the diverse range of tourism experiences on offer – from the spectacular coastline and beaches, the stunning hospitality of the hinterland, amazing local produce and relaxed beach lifestyle.
